New Doxology- Key of D- Gateway Worship- Wake Up the World Album

Everyone (Praises) Key of A- New Life Worship- My Saviour Lives

Offering/ Announcements

Worthy- Key of C- New Life Worship- Counting on God Album

Filled With Glory- Key of D- Michael Gungor- Battlecry Album

We had an awesome time in our second service today. Wrestling with some things, I was a bit distracted from worship in our first service. God was still very near in that service but for me, my focus was off.
I talked with my pastor and we prayed about a few things and it stirred me to faith. I went into the service expecting God to move. It is amazing how God can transform you from the tie you close your eyes to when you open them a couple of minutes later.
I love the song "New Doxology" because even at a slower tempo it is a great call to worship. This song puts the focus on the King, who is the reason for worship anyway! It is always interesting opening with this song because people usually expect a very up tempo song. I must also say that we are lacking a bass player... (Drums, Keys, Ac. guitar is our band right now) However this song really worked and people really responded to the King.
We went right into "Everyone(Praises)" which is a much faster tempo and people really ascended further up the hill of the Lord. People really were excited about Jesus and this song is a call to congregational worship.
We then did our announcements and offering and released our kids to children's ministries.
We then introduced a new song to our congregation, "Worthy", written by Jared Anderson of New Life Worship. The first time I heard this song it just killed me. (Insert Side note here: More and More I am realizing how worship really must be about Jesus and His worth. So much worship today has a focus of ME, ME, ME, and I, I, I. I do think there is a place for declaration of who we are in Christ but I don't know if we will sing songs about our rights as sons and daughters in heaven. I think when we are in heaven that's a given and our focus will be the worth of the King.) The chorus is this song is very repetitive and easy to sing. The church really responded well even though it was a new song.
We ended with Michael Gungor's "Filled With Glory." Great declaration song! What happened at the end of this song was awesome. As we finished we went back into the bridge, "The earth will be, filled with glory, like water ore' the see" and just began to declared this over our city, nation, and world. We had a very prophetic atmosphere and we had 4-5 different people come up and give encouraging prophetic words. The main emphasis of the prophetic words were all things are possible if your just BELIEVE! We than began to sing together, "I BELIEVE! "
God is doing some amazing things in our worship services as well as in our city. Our church is really beginning to feel the activation of the Spirit to impact our community everyday. We are not walking even close to what God has for us, but it starts by BELIEVING!

Sunday Setlist 05.10.09

I finally have the time to put up my Sunday Set list again. I am attempting to get back into the flow. Thanks again to Fred McKinnon for heading this up. I am finding it a great resource to pull ideas from.

We had a full schedule of events for service today. I knew we would have a lot to put into 1 1/2 hour service. We started two morning services Easter Sunday. One service is at 8:30 and the other at 11:00. Our church has been starting to grow so we needed to make more room.

I will give you the list and then explain how the service went.

Early Service-

G- You're Worthy of My Praise
G- Let My Soul Cry Out- New to our congregation
--------Announcements
E- Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone)
A- How Great Thou Art

Late Service-

G- You Give Me Joy
G- Let My Soul Cry Out- New to our congregation
-----Announcements/Offering
E- Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone)
A-How Great Thou Art

Both services are usually different. Typically we do the same set list for both services, but I'll explain why we didn't do it today.

The early service had a slow start. The first half had a new song and a rather older song so it was hard to get into. I think people liked the new song but it usually takes a few times befor ethe congregation catches on.

The last half of worship was great. This is the first time we have done Amazing Grace( My Chains Are Gone) in a service. I think the church came to attention when they heard the song start because we don't do it very often and it has such a great message. The new part of the song really brought a freshness to it I think people enjoyed. How Great Thou Art went very good as well and we really took off on this song. The declaration in this song is amazing and really allows people to release worship.

The late service had a faster start. We changed the first song because of how old and unfamiliar it was. None of us on the team were really into today either so I wanted to do something familiar and more upbeat. The newer song went better the 2nd service and people were ready to respond.

Again the 2nd half of the songs went well. How Great Thou Art went to a different place than the first service, again just the declaration of the song allows freedom for people to abandon themselves with hope.

Well maybe I'll do video next week. Check back to see what places we explore in worship here at Restoration Church in Casper, WY. Keep worship our King!

Blogs are such a good IDEA!

I am posting because I haven't in many months! I may be able to post regularly now that I'm not installing granite counter-tops all over Wyoming and South Dakota. I have a cool job... It is hard to explain but my paycheck comes from God! Interesting way to live but God is building my faith. It is quite an adventure doing the things you want to and somehow having the right amount of money coming in in just the nic of time. Anyway... I will post more about this later... Stay tuned!

Excuses...

God has been talking to me over the past few days about excuses. It is interesting how excuses can cause the incredible plans God has for your life to be hindered. Excuses really end up being justifications for our fears and insecurities. Take a moment and think about the last 24 hours of your life.

How many excuses have you made?

Whether it was how you flung the sheets off of you in utter irritation at 4 am because of a crying baby and how you had every right to be mad at your wife because YOU were tired... oh and YOU had to lead worship that morning... :)

(There is no way she could have been tired right? She should be used to it by now, she does it EVERY night!)

or

Possibly it is a certain circumstance or situation or person (some people) that is holding you back from the dream God has put in your heart. Whatever it may be, it is an EXCUSE.

One of our friends, Andrea, this week at our Worship Retreat in Kansas City made a comment Friday night, she was talking about our responsibility. She talked about how we don't have any excuses or reason for not fulfilling and walking in what God has for us right now. How we have a responsibility to believe God and accept who God has made us to be and what He has called us to do and really walk in it.

I've been thinking about that ever since and was reminded again when our pastor was preaching this morning. Basically he talked about how we can really BE Christians, but we must purpose in our hearts to do so and embrace truth.

In whatever God is asking of us in this day, WE CAN DO IT! We must stop making excuses for why we can't or don't want to. We have to put aside the deceptions and lies and embrace the truth. There are no excuses in truth. We must purpose in our heart to walk in who God has made us to be. Not fearing, not doubting, not making excuses... Just BEing would God has called us to be. (2 Cor. 9:-7-13)

Determine today, whenever you read this, to make less and less excuses and to embrace more and more truth and purpose in your heart to be all God has called you to be.

God...

It is amazing to me still when God shocks me with His sovereignty. John Bevere says in his teaching, Honor's Rewards, that we don't ever know when our life defining moments are. He says we should just make a habit of doing right in hard times or in good times. Sometimes the fruit from the seeds we plant in our lives doesn't show up for years. In the midst of all that we do sometimes we forget that God brings the increase, we are just to do all that he asks.

When I was in high school I felt often that I was the only person really pursuing Jesus. There were a few people who were going to church, but actually living for Jesus was a different story. I was not perfect by any means, but I did my best to walk with Christ, even in the midst of losing most of my friends.

I recently received a friend request on my Facebook from a guy I went to high school with. I remembering praying for this guy after I was saved, and several others who were not serving God at the time. I couldn't remember who he was at first when I saw his profile until I saw he was from my hometown. A light bulb came on all of a sudden and I almost cried. I don't ever remember witnessing to this guy directly or sharing the gospel with him. He may not even remember I was a Christian, but I prayed and God heard my prayer. He is now serving God and looks to have a wonderful family and business.

Wow! I could cry and scream for joy all at the same time at the wonder and majesty of God Our Father. Amazing!
